Tools for NIfTI (ANALYZE) MR image - Load, save, make, and view both NIfTI & ANALYZE data on any platform The MATLAB NIfTI tools in this package let you load, save, make, and view both NIfTI & ANALYZE image on any platform. It has been tested on Linux and Windows under MATLAB version 5.3.1, version 6.5.1, MATLAB 7.1.0, and MATLAB R2007.There are two major features in this package:1. Activation map, ROI, etc. can be overlaid on top of MR image. 2. Viewer plot can be embedded into your existing figure window. Tools for NIfTI package support the following data type: Binary, unsigned char, signed short, signed int, float, COMPLEX64, double, RGB, signed char, unsigned short, unsigned int, signed long int, unsigned long int, and COMPLEX128. Basically, it includes all datatypes except long double (FLOAT128).The old ANALYZE image does not tell you any orientation information. If it is in RAS, that is what you get. If it is in LAS, that is also what you get. Many people are having trouble to tell whether an ANALYZE image is in RAS or in LAS.Since the new NIfTI image includes affine transformation, the tools will tell if it is in RAS or in LAS.Therefore, tools in this package will convert any NIfTI image to RAS orientation system.Earlier versions of SPM (before SPM5) use an affine matrix in a .mat file with the same file name as the corresponding Analyze file for affine transformation. If "load_nii" in the tools detects that the file you are loading is an Analyze file and there is a .mat file with the same file, it will automatically integrate the affine matrix in the .mat file into .hdr structure. In addition, a standalone script called "mat_into_hdr.m" is included in the tools to integrate the corresponding .mat files into the .hdr files. Requirements: ยท MATLAB Release: R11.1
